Reports to: Head of Finance
Location:   Hybrid – Avante Care and Support Head Office, Faversham (with occasional travel 

                  across Kent and South East London). Flexible working from home 2 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum

Who We’re Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and personable Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role is vital to ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgets and forecasts, and overseeing the Purchase Ledger. The successful candidate will be detail-focused, collaborative, and aligned with our SPARKLE values, ensuring finance not only adds value but also supports people across our organisation.


What You’ll Do:

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, providing insight into variances and costs across Care Homes and Corporate departments.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing review of organisational costs.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate monthly depreciation.
  • Oversee the Purchase Ledger function to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Support internal audits and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Promote a supportive, inclusive and collaborative work environment consistent with SPARKLE values.

 

What You Need to Have:

  • AAT qualified with experience in a Finance department, ideally across budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Exchequer and Access Financials is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, able to convey complex information clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
  • Team player with a collaborative, supportive approach, and a commitment to the SPARKLE values.
  • Driving licence and occasional travel to services across Kent and South East London is preferred.
