Avante Care & Support is a well-established charity, supporting and enhancing the lives of over 1,000 older people across our nursing and dementia care homes. We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Northbourne Court Care Home.
The Role
You’ll be a key part of creating enjoyable, nutritious mealtimes in a warm and caring environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Prepping fresh ingredients – fruits, veggies, and more
Helping serve meals and ensuring mealtimes are a warm, welcoming experience
Keeping the kitchen and dining areas spotless and safe
Supporting our Chef with meal planning, guided by the needs and preferences of our residents
Championing hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day
 What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
A kind, understanding nature – you’ll be working closely with older people
Enthusiasm for food and a willingness to learn
A true team player
Desirable:
City & Guilds or similar catering qualification
Knowledge of food hygiene, cultural diets, and nutrition
Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene
