Payroll Analyst & Assistant Payroll Manager
Location: Head Office, Faversham
Contract Type: Full-time 37 hours
Salary: £34,000–£38,000 depending on experience

About the Role
You’ll be supporting the Payroll Manager in overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, managing data analysis and reporting, and helping to drive continuous improvements in payroll operations. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, analytical capability, and strong interpersonal skills.
Person Specification
Experience & Skills
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Payroll department, with comprehensive exposure to all key responsibilities
Payroll Specialist Certificate Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (CIPP)
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex payroll information clearly across all levels
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
Experience with Iris Earnie or Zellis payroll software is highly desirable
Strong presentation skills, capable of delivering clear and persuasive updates
Demonstrated ability in financial and payroll data analysis, identifying trends and anomalies
Skilled in data monitoring and documentation, with a focus on improving reporting processes
Resilient, adaptable and able to perform well under pressure
A team player with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic
Capable of motivating and supporting colleagues in a collaborative environment
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable, as some travel may be required for audits and meetings
