Project Manager - Interim

Job Introduction

We are opening our brand-new care home in Westgate-on-Sea next year, and are on the hunt for an interim Project Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. 

Salary £50k-£60k per annum - 3 to 5 days per week (Part-time/Full-time)

Job Summary: 

The Project Manager will lead the development and implementation of robust project plans for new acquisitions/developments to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay within budget and adhere to quality standards. Their expertise in managing resources and timelines will prevent miscommunication and ensure timely delivery of Avante new development/acquisition projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Analyse project status and, when necessary, revise the schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact and communication updates on project status and changes.
  • Establish and maintain processes for managing resources during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
  • Structure and manage integrated project performance tracking systems.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships where needed with third-party resources, including suppliers.
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximise deliverables.
  • Report any outstanding tasks, project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate executive team member and senior manager and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
  • Attend and contribute to team briefings, staff meetings, meetings with the senior leaders and other professional groups or networks.

Person Specifications

  • Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade 4 and above)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development


Experience

  • Extensive project management experience in supporting the delivery of new developments/acquisitions
  • Experience of using project management tools, software and resources
  • Stakeholder management experience up to board level
  • Experience of coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets
  • Experience in health or social care environments (desirable) 


Skills/Competencies

  • Exceptional numeric, written and oral communication skills
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills
  • Ability to use project management tools such as Asana, MSProject etc.


Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of project and change management methodologies
  • Knowledge of the social care sector. (desirable)
